Massage Therapy

Every session is created for each client’s needs using a combination of techniques. Techniques and modalities provided are dependent upon the practitioner. Utilization of techniques and modalities will be based upon client request and needs as determined by the client and therapist. For questions regarding services, consultations, and scheduling please contact the individual therapists listed below.

Therapeutic Massage

Integrating the foundational techniques of Swedish or Relaxation Massage and Deep Tissue or Medical techniques, a therapeutic massage is designed to address each individual client's needs. Additional techniques and modalities such as Myofascial Therapy, Strain-Counterstrain, Scar Tissue Mobilization, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Active Isolated Stetching, and more, may be integrated based on the needs of the client and at the discretion of the therapist. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, increased circulation, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system is one of the key components of the immune system. Its primary function is the removal of toxins and waste from the body. Toxins can be anything from drugs we take regularly to manage health conditions to motor vehicle fumes to natural inflammation produced by the body in response to surgeries and simple cuts and bruises. When the lymphatic system is working effectively you are better equipped to fight colds, resist allergens, reduce swelling and experience an overall sense of well-being.  Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized technique performed by a trained lymphatic therapist to stimulate the flow of lymph. The pressure used during the application of this modality is lighter that what you may have experienced when receiving other hands on treatments. The strokes are performed in a wave-like movement to help move the lymph in harmony with the normal rhythm of the body. The basic principle of this work is to facilitate the lymph to move smoothly and efficiently throughout the lymphatic system.  While this technique may benefit almost all people it is especially helpful to those dealing with lymphedema due to pregnancy, medical conditions, or who are post operative.

Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage incorporates modifications and adjustments to traditional massage modalities in order to provide the best care possible for persons undergoing treatment for cancer or with a history of cancer.  Adjustments and modifications are often made to the length of the session, level of pressure, the position of the client, and the site of touch. Some of the benefits that cancer patients may receive from massage therapy include:  reduction of pain perception, stress relief, greater relaxation, reduced nausea, relief from chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), even years out of treatment, and increased range of motion (ROM) and reduction of scar tissue near surgical sites.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage therapy uses direct heat of the stones to relax muscles, improve circulation and increase flexibility. Special smooth stones are heated in water to optimal temperature, placed at key points on the body and also directly used in the massage application. Utilizing hot stones allows the therapist to access deeper muscle layers. Combining hot stone protocols including direct application of hot stones to muscles, with a 60-90 minute full body massage session provides unique healing and relaxing experience to the clients.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage (also called Prenatal Massage) can help release common pains and discomforts that often develop throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, and may include the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, improved breathing and relaxation, and emotional support.  Care is given to address the changing needs of an expectant mother's body, working to relieve pain and stress while nurturing a safe space for the baby.

AromaTouch

The AromaTouch Technique is a systemic approach to essential oil application in a powerful, accessible way for everyone to experience the power of essential oils. This technique will allow you to incorporate into your individual health philosophy a way to enhance the benefits received from essential oils, addressing whole body needs, and creating overall systemic health benefits. Each essential oil in the AromaTouch Technique was selected for its individual aromatic properties, and for their powerful aromatic properties when combined.  The AromaTouch Technique uses specific guidelines and instructions for both dosage and application that make it a safe and effective way to receive the full benefits of essential oils. The AromaTouch Technique is gentle and can be adapted to accommodate young or sensitive skin so that anyone can benefit without the worry of overwhelming the body.

Therapeutic Massage, AromaTouch

Anna is also a Board Certified Holistic Health Coach, a Certified Ambassador EssentialYoga Program and a Certified AromaTouch Technique Provider. Anna was drawn into the Healthcare profession after being the victim of two motor vehicle accidents just months apart which left her with debilitating injuries that continued to severely impact her health and wellness and severely impacted her overall quality of life. Upon the two year “anniversary” of the first motor vehicle accident, it was because of the unacceptable answers and explanations from her treating physicians telling Anna, “you never are going to get better”, that Anna began her journey of empowerment to help herself “get better” and she becomes more and more passionate each day to make sure she can help others do the same in any way possible.

Anna has been a Licensed Massage Therapist and Holistic Health Care Practitioner since 2011. Anna believes in the body’s ability to heal itself and utilizes her expertise in this process. Combining that notion with her clinical education from The New York Institute of Massage and Institute of Integrative Nutrition, she strives to personalize each treatment and/or session to the individual’s needs to facilitate the opportunity for positive physical, mental, and emotional healing. Anna is committed to sharing her knowledge and resources as a supportive mentor and wellness authority so that each individual can best take care of themselves on a holistic level. In addition to private practice, she has worked in other settings providing therapy and support to Cancer support groups, Wounded Veterans groups and Hospice and End of Life Care.

In addition to the hands on treatments provided, Anna travels throughout the US and Canada teaching, serving and sharing the simple ways each individual can build healthy lifestyle habits to best take care of themselves and their loved ones to be their healthiest and happiest.
