Meditation

People often think meditation is a practice that is hard to learn or that they are incapable of "clearing their mind" in order to meditate, but in fact it is the practice of meditation that creates a clearer mind and spirit. Meditation is not associated with any particular religion or spiritual practice and can be practiced in groups or alone. 

The Creative Wellness Meditation Room is a beautiful, safe space, where anyone may come and explore the practice of meditation. You may choose to sit in silence and pray, reflect, focus on a mantra of your choosing or just enjoy the sanctity of the space. It is free and open to the public during all class and workshop times or whenever a staff member is present. For those seeking to learn through Guided Meditation we offer workshops where you can learn from an experienced leader on how to embrace the practice of meditation.

Guided Meditation

Guided Meditation is one of the easiest ways to enter into a state of deep relaxation and inner stillness, and it’s one of the most powerful ways to eliminate stress and bring about positive personal changes. It is one of the best tools we have to balance our emotions, deal with  physical and psychological distress, and promote the peace of the present moment. When you’re  open to welcoming and experiencing each and every emotion, as well as its opposite, anxiety and  fear no longer control your life. Self-judgments lose their grip and self-love, kindness, and compassion blossom. Simultaneously welcoming opposing emotions deactivates your brain’s default network and limbic system, which are responsible for holding you  hostage in negative emotions. Meditate on your feelings to get calm, grounded, and healthy.

Introduction to Meditation

Learn about meditation,  What is meditation?  How do we do it?  What are the benefits of meditating?   All of these questions and many more will be discussed in this 2 session/90 minute Introduction to Meditation class.  You will be given an opportunity to practice and experience meditation firsthand.  You will be guided through a meditation by an experienced teacher, through both verbal queuing, sounds and visual experience.  All levels of experience are welcome.  Cost $50 for 3 hours see workshop schedule for details.


Tobi Stewart

Tobi Stewart is a meditation teacher and founder of Angels of Light, a resource hub offering support and stress-relief for caregivers. Tobi's own career journey led her to exploring self-care and wellness practices to replenish and fortify mind, body and spirit. 

All people deal with depleting daily stressors. The additional stress of a caregiver's journey makes a self-care regimen all the more important. Creating a lifestyle which includes restorative meditation, intentional relaxation, and grateful living has helped Tobi to thrive in her caregiver role. She is passionate about sharing these tools and the joy of implementing them with others.

Tobi is a 200 hour certified meditation teacher from The Veda Center and mindbodygreen. Her work as a teacher is based in a strong belief that meditation should be made accessible to everyone.
